What the math test covers
Questions come from the same instructional areas MAP Growth math reports on:
- Operations and algebraic thinking — patterns, equations, and word problems.
- Number and operations — place value, fractions, decimals, and computation.
- Measurement and data — time, money, length, graphs, and charts.
- Geometry — shapes, area, angles, and coordinate planes.
How a practice session works
Your child answers one question at a time on a full-screen layout, with multiple-choice and number-entry items, an on-screen calculator when it fits, and read-aloud for younger grades. Correct answers raise the difficulty; misses lower it — so every child practices at the level that stretches them.
Scores parents can understand
Each mock test ends with a RIT score, national percentile, and scores for each math area, plus a plain-language AI summary and improvement plan. Kids just see "Great job!" — scores stay behind your parent PIN. Compare results with the MAP math scores by grade.
Learning Mode for math
Switch to Learning Mode and there's no score at all. When your child misses a problem, the AI tutor walks through the right method in kid-friendly steps — read on screen or out loud.
